About the puzzles

Happy 2009

and welcome to my puzzles!

 Unique handmade wooden jigsaw puzzles
which are satisfying to handle and fun to do.

My puzzles are not usually cut in a regular pattern like most cardboard puzzles. They are cut freehand so each one is different.   Although the number of pieces is generally smaller than in similar-sized cardboard ones, the puzzles are often quite hard to do - I like them to present a challenge!

At any one time there is only one of each puzzle available.  I can often make another one of any picture, but it will not be identical.  It might be the same picture, but the cut will be different; or if it is a painted puzzle, the picture itself will also be slightly different.

I was adjusting an exhibition of my puzzles in Prestatyn Library in December when a visitor asked me, "Are they pictures or puzzles?"  In the case of my painted ones, the answer is, both!  I paint directly on to the sealed wood and then cut it up.

Samples of my puzzles are illustrated below - have a look at the other pages!

Keep an eye on my News page for new puzzles added to the site.
