The puzzle is built up using thin sheets of wood
to cut out each bit of contour, on a base of 4mm plywood, then each layer was painted before the whole was cut. If you
think this was fiddly, you are quite right!
The
result is an illustration of the natural architecture of the hills of Wales, with some rivers, towns and roads marked, and
of course the border with England.

Woman; the three layers are similar (with important variations!) to the three layers of the female version. All the
internal parts of the body are illustrated in the four diagrams, three on the puzzle layers and one diagram on the solid base.
The layers are intended to be put together one on top of the other, but can also be lifted out as they are separated by plastic
sheets. The whole thing is held firmly in place by the lid.
All the puzzle is handpainted.
